MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 Jan 12 Observer(s): Sheffield Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: MkIII/Wilbur Worked for 11.5 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: I had a problem with the telescope/guider link; the MIS control s/w was reinitialized and the problem was fixed. About 45 minutes were lost due to this problem (thank you, Jules, for helping with the diagnosis). A largish metal screw was found directly under the telescope during close down. I left the screw atop the ladder that is next to the liquid nitrogen storage dewar. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Jan 13 [7:43:08]
