MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 Jan 22 Observer(s): Jackie Faherty Institution(s): American Museum of Natural History Instrument: MKIII Worked for 8 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: I filled the dewar at 7am on Jan 22. At that time the detector temperature was ~-80. When I awoke and checked on the detector at ~3pm the temperature had risen to +2. I filled the dewar and the temperature dropped rapidly. I started observing at 7pm when I was able to get the detector down to -80. However the temperature continued to rise throughout the night. I filled the dewar 8-10 times during the night as I closely monitored the changing temperature. I have filled the dewar this morning at 7am however I am noticing that even though I just filled it, the temperature is rising. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Jan 23 [7:17:40]
