MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 Jun 15 Observer(s): S. Lepine Institution(s): AMNH Instrument: MkIII + Wilbur Worked for 8 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Clear, Winds Moderate End: Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Very bright full moon which was not a problem for this follow-up program of Kepler stars. Observed 38 targets total. I couldn't use the guider because the guide camera was seriously out-of-focus and I couldn't figure out how to focus it. This was not too much of an issue since all the night's exposures were short, and the tracking is good. I found that the CCDS chip shows significant fringing in the red, up to 30% at 8000A. In addition the instrument shows signs of flexure, which means that flats must be obtained for every pointing to properly correct for the fringing pattern. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 Jun 16 [5:27:34]
