MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2011 May 11 Observer(s): S. Lepine Institution(s): AMNH Instrument: MkIII+Wilbur Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Excellent night. This time the Decl. guiding behaved and NS shaking was minimal, most likely due to relatively low winds combined with wind control measures (doors and dropout closed). Tracking was systematically lost whenever a new pointing was completed. It seemed to coincide with the moment the dome had finished moving to the new position. Simple fix is just to hit the tracking button again, an hit point to move back to target. Observed all night and got spectra of 33 young M dwarf candidates. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2011 May 12 [4:53:32] NOTE: This report replaces the previous 1.3m telescope observing report for 2011 May 11
