MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Apr 05 Observer(s): De Rosa Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate, Bright moon Mid: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate, Bright moon End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable, Bright moon Observing Summary: When I first tried to point Mrk704, the telescope started to oscillate more than 10arcsec in NS direction (HA +00:25:07 DEC +19:48:15). I then moved to NGC3227: the NS oscillations stopped but the source was slightly bouncing on EW direction (even if always on slit). Even if the wind was only moderate (4m weather station: 19mph, no strong gasps) I needed to shut the doors and the dropout in order to improve the guiding. After this, all the sources were stable on slit. I had some problems with the paddle that was not responding properly (see trouble report). Bright moon all night. I went through all targets. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Apr 6 [5:11:48]
