MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Feb 11 Observer(s): ZAstrow & De Rosa Institution(s): UM OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 5 hours (first half of the night) Bad weather most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: High Winds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.7 arcsec, Clear, Winds High End: Overcast, Winds High Observing Summary: While setting up the telescope we had some issues with the panel control hanging during mirror opening. Night started mostly clear with few cirrus on the horizon, good seeing. Wind progressively got stronger. We decided to close te dropout shutter to preserve telescope pointing. At UT 4:21 we closed for 1h 20 m because the wind was too strong. After re-opening we had few hours of observing before clouds covered the sky. We managed to observe 3 targets and 2 standards. High priority targets were not observable due to wind direction. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Feb 12 [5:14:49]
