MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Feb 22 Observer(s): Hawkins, Shappee Institution(s): Ohio Univ., OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.74 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 2.03 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.35 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: I opened at around 7pm. In the middle of the night, clouds were spotted on the horizon otherwise the sky was clear. We had relatively poor seeing throughout the night (+1.75 arcsec). The seeing did get slightly better towards the end of the night (~1.3 arcsec). There were minor problems with the Telescope hand paddle. Toggling 5-15 arcsec. North or South would sometimes not do anything. This caused a loss of less than 8-10 minutes throughout the night. All objects were observed for the suggested time. However, Mrk618 was only observed 3 times to allow full observations of Mrk478.There were ~40 minutes of extra time at the end of the night which I used to observe Mrk478 as it has been under-observed in previous nights and is relatively dim compared to other objects on the target list. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Feb 23 [6:21:29]
