MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Mar 20 Observer(s): Grier & Beatty Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.7 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds High Observing Summary: Got through all AGN targets with time to spare (will take some extra exposures of the faint ones tomorrow-- wasn't sure how much time I'd have today). Things went fine for the most part, with a couple of small hiccups. First, the XMIS controller crashed and I had to restart it, so I lost about a half an hour from that. I also had some problems with the hand paddle later on, but didn't really lose any time from it. We caught a mouse in the trap in the kitchen...it's creepy. Also, there appears to be some major plumbing issues going (I emailed Bob) but basically, something is blocked--we have to plunge the toilets in order to get anything flushed, and when I plunged mine earlier, water/stuff/sewage came out the shower drain. So right now we only have half-working toilets. I had noticed the shower wasn't draining well this morning, but I thought it was just hair in the drain, so Paul cleaned it out, but it appears to be a deeper issue now. Hopefully we can get a plumber up here soon because not being able to use toilets without plunging and having it come out the shower is going to get rough. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Mar 21 [4:51:37]
