MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 May 30 Observer(s): Emir Karamehmetoglu, Marcus Levine, Helena Uthas Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: Nellie Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 2.3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: There were intermittent oscillations during the run similar to last night, but it wasn't effecting the run too badly until about 4 am. The guider would no longer track/guide at this point. And the oscillations made any further data obtaining impossible. This happened with the telescope close to zenith and we moved to an object not near the zenith, (ring nebula,) just to check if the oscillations went away; they did disappear. Otherwise conditions were good, and seeing drastically improved when the moon went down. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 May 31 [4:41:32]
