MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Sep 03 Observer(s): Colon Institution(s): UH Instrument: 4K Worked for 0.5 hours (part of the night) Bad weather most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Overcast, Winds Moderate End: Overcast, Winds Calm Observing Summary: I opened the dome at sunset (~19:00). The conditions were partly cloudy, and the humidity was fairly high (~80%), but I wanted to open ASAP because our target needed to be observed early in the night. I took a couple sky flats, and noticed a possible condensation pattern on the image, so I shut down and closed the dome immediately. The weather grew increasingly overcast and the humidity remained high (at or above 80%) all night (at least up until I closed). Thunderstorms started nearby around 22:00 but nothing significant reached the mountain. It started raining around 01:30 and remained drizzly and overcast. I called it a night at 03:00. No problems were encountered (besides poor observing conditions!). ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Sep 4 [2:52:47]
