MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2012 Sep 30 Observer(s): Colon Institution(s): UH Instrument: 4K Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: My primary target for the night didn't rise until 8:30pm, so I took dome flats starting at 7:30pm. When I went to get on sky, the guide probe was not responding to the move guide probe command. I closed and restarted JSkyCalc, but when I did that the MIS window completely froze and went gray, so I couldn't click anything but the x in the upper righthand corner to close it. When I tried to restart xmis2 I got an error that there was another instance running so it could not be started. At this point I called Bob. Eventually I closed all the programs down and killed the xmis2 process and restarted everything. I finally ended up getting on sky around 10:00pm (once I restarted everything and redid the pointing). I should note my primary target was too close to the Moon, so I ended up observing a different target. No other problems were encountered. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2012 Oct 1 [5:43:45]
