MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Apr 27 Observer(s): Denney/King Institution(s): OSU/UQ Instrument: CCDS Worked for 8.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.4 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.9 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.9 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: It was a beautiful night. A tad bit of cirrus and patchy clouds along the horizon at sunset, but it cleared up nicely and was gorgeous with calm winds all night. The seeing could have been better, but not much else to ask for. We observed all of our targets, 40 minutes of NGC2617, and an extra exposure of 3c382 because we had the time - just unfortunately at the expense of Mrk 374, which we observed after NGC2617 because it was up a tad longer. Unfortunately, the telescope hit the western limit when Mrk 374 was only at an airmass of 1.79, which I wasn't expecting. So we only got 45 minutes on Mrk 374 tonight. We also continued our mouse hunt with a new conquest in the control room. Is it bad that I feel kind of sorry for them? I'm sure it has something to do with having recently finished reading The Mouse and the Motorcycle to Isabelle... ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Apr 28 [4:23:29]
