MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Dec 08 Observer(s): Erek Alper Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Andor direct Worked for 10 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: The clouds that hung around all day broke somewhat at sunset, and before the moon came up we were able to get some decent data. However, one the moon rose and illuminated the remaining clouds, direct imaging became spotty business at best. Due to increasing cloud cover and brightness, we closed up shop for a few hours around 9 pm (MST), starting again around midnight (MST) as things became slightly clearer. The only real problem was my own - I chased a star too far and tripped the safety wire, so John and I went down and started things up again. Overall, got some data, but not the best conditions for direct observing. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Dec 9 [6:57:32]
