MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Dec 12 Observer(s): Alper & Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: MkIII/Templeton Worked for 2 hours (part of the night) Bad weather most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Very bad weather from 20:00 until dawn?. Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Mid: Fog/Low Clouds, Winds High End: Overcast, Winds High, Who knows! Observing Summary: Amazingly, the clouds broke a bit after sunset and we got in ~2 hours of pretty decent observations. However, the clouds came back, winds rose, the humidity went up, and fog rolled in, ending the night. Rain is expected later, so this is for the best. John then wrote the code to ensure the telescope never slews west enough to hit the trip wire. We tested, and it works! Good stuff. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Dec 13 [1:36:59]
