MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Dec 28 Observer(s): Halpern, Schwarzer Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: Templeton Worked for 11 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Halpern tried remote observing for the first time, with Schwarzer monitoring from the control room. It went very well, for a first try. Had some trouble keeping windows within the available workspace, but this was eventually resolved. Once the VNC connection to the guider PC was lost, but we restarted it using notes taken by Adrian Lucy from Eric's demonstration. Another time, the guider lost connection to the telescope, but we easily restarted it remotely. Seeing of 1.0 arcsecond was observed occasionally. All in all, a very good experience. This report will replace the previous one because I think that all previous reports from Dec 23-28 should have been dated one day earlier. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Dec 29 [20:17:26] NOTE: This report replaces the previous 1.3m telescope observing report for 2014 Dec 28
