MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Feb 19 Observer(s): Kim, Penny Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.78 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1.83 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate End: Seeing 1.32 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Observed 5 AGN for the reverberation campaign. We were unable to observe our 2 remaining AGN targets as the instrument-end of the telescope made contact with an LN2 refill dewer stored on the northeast corner of the platform in the dome, preventing the telescope from slewing east (e.g. the dewer on the telescope was resting on the top of the refill dewer on the ground, and so the telescope could not rotate further down). By pointing the telescope slightly west, we freed the refill dewer and relocated it to out of the telescope's reach. We made sure that the telescope was pointing and tracking properly (which involved resetting the telescope coordinates), then observed the last standard star on our program without incident. Initial all-sky light cirrus gave way to clear skies within a couple hours, remaining so for the rest of the night. Moderately strong winds ~10-20mph throughout the night. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Feb 20 [7:13:28]
