MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Jan 03 Observer(s): Michael Fausnaugh Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 07 until 13. Beg: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Overcast, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Weather started clear with excellent seeing. Haze/cirrus clouds approached at about 07 UT, and conditions degraded from there. Managed to barely punch through clouds for the last hour (12-13 UT). No major technical difficulties. There was no N-S nodding except for the very first exposure of the night. The first standard star seemed to have an erratic N-S wobble, about 10 arcseconds in amplitude (!!). Observed 7 AGN and 2 standard stars (although the last half of the night is questionable). Did Akn120 for the first hour, AM = 1.6. At the end of the night, unable to acquire faintest sources, will try for NGC 5548 tomorrow. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Jan 4 [6:11:50]
