MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Jan 17 Observer(s): Simonian Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Observed 8 AGN tonight. Weather conditions were fantastic! Skies were clear, and the wind was calm the entire night. Even with great weather conditions, a few objects still had guiding issues in the X-direction while the Y-direction was fantastically smooth. Objects for which this was observed were Markarian 374 and NGC 4051. This directional variation in guiding may be attributable to NS nodding? Visual NS nodding was seen for Hz 44 and the star of NGC 5548, which made focusing ambiguous. AGN observations finished at twilight. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Jan 18 [6:46:50]
