MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Jan 18 Observer(s): Simonian Institution(s): OSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 12 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 0.8 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Observing Summary: 8 AGN targets were observed tonight. There was a cirrus layer which may degrade the data a bit. However, all objects were visible, and guided fairly well throughout the night. I think the worst effect of the cloud layer was to scatter moonlight. Despite the cloud layer, seeing was still measured at ~1 . Does that make sense? NS nodding was spotted, particularly for standard stars. There were also very strange-looking PSFs during focusing that might be attributable to NS nodding. Particularly, images that look overfocused on one side, and underfocused on the other side. AGN were all observed by twilight. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Jan 19 [6:23:23]
