MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Jan 29 Observer(s): Eracleous, Brown Institution(s): Penn State, Ohio State Instrument: CCDS Worked for 10.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 5 UT until 7 UT. Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.9 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.3 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: CCDS spectroscopy: Reverberation mapping campaign on NGC 5548 and various other Seyfert galaxies. Variable clouds throughout the night, mostly thin, but sometimes thick. Telescope nodding created problems on two occasions. The first time we were not able to ste up on our target so we moved on. The second time the nodding started while we were exposing and smeared the signal along the slit. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Jan 30 [6:08:45]
