MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 May 06 Observer(s): Runnoe Institution(s): PSU Instrument: CCDS Worked for 5 hours (last half of the night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 03:00 until 06:00. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm, High humidity Mid: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.7 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm, High humidity Observing Summary: I lost ~3 hours tonight due to weather. At sunset there were some clouds that thickened during twilight. The clouds started to clear, but there was dust in the air. When the dust had settled, the humidity was too high to open. When the humidity came down, the clouds were back. I finally opened around 6:00 UT. I had to make some decisions about what to observe because the schedule was shot by the weather. I followed NGC 3227 until its airmass became too high rather than going to PG 1244 since I've been having trouble with the nodding. When I did set up on PG 1244 I experienced the nodding issue (see trouble report), so I moved on to try to finish the rest of the night with the regular schedule. During the first exposure of the last target the humidity shot up and I had to close. I was unable to get the final standard, so I only have one standard for tonight. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 May 7 [4:27:25]
