MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2014 Sep 19 Observer(s): Halpern, Alford, Borgman Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: Templeton Worked for 9.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Observing Summary: This is the first night used on the 1.3m this semester. About 1/2 hour after sunset conditions were suitable for opening. Initial pointing was accurate to 3 arcminutes, and was zeroed on a bright star. We then had to use about 30 minutes of dry nitrogen to clear a drop of condensation. With no wind and good seeing, tracking was excellent. Clouds came back around 4am. The only minor problem concerns an inaccurate clock time on mdmarc2, which writes the time to the headers of the data files. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2014 Sep 20 [4:57:21]
