MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2015 Jun 24 Observer(s): Halpern Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: Templeton Worked for 2.5 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable End: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Opening was delayed until just after 9pm, when the clouds thinned out enough. The first thing I did was to zero the pointing on a bright star near zenith. I verified that the true zenith values of the tilt meters posted on the window a couple of years ago are still valid. After observing the first target for about 20 minutes, problems occurred which I traced to power cables becoming loose for the filter wheel and the guide camera (see separate trouble report). A moaning sound from the telescope noted a couple of nights ago is present most of the time. I closed at 11:30pm when more clouds came in, my hopes for getting a long time series during this run dashed. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2015 Jun 25 [0:49:14]
