MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2015 May 12 Observer(s): Meghin Spencer Institution(s): University of Michigan Instrument: 4K Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable, Humidity 75% End: Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable, Humidity 56% Observing Summary: Cloudy all of the night (cirrus), but some larger clouds hung around during the first half of the night. Guiding failed a couple times because of clouds. We lost a few of our fainter targets from the clouds but were able to observe the brighter ones during these times. The humidity reached 75% for a while around midnight but then dropped back down. We filled the dewar at the beginning of the night, but around 1am we noticed that the temperature reading was around -80. We refilled the dewar but noted that it didn't take very long to refill. However, when we checked the temp half an hour later it had cooled down to about -95. We also noticed that using the call roi4k or call roi2k commands in Prospero issued a pile of errors. JSkyCalc froze for a little while too. Just as I was about to restart, it started working again. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2015 May 13 [5:14:48]
