MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2015 Oct 05 Observer(s): Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: modspec+echelle CCD Worked for 0.5 hours (part of the night) Bad weather most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Mid: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Remote observing! Lots of cloud, and rising humidity, but managed to open for a bit at the start, get slit balance flats, and acquire a star. Used the new computer-control commands for the dome slit and dropleaf -- the only problem was that they complained that it was raining, when it definitely was not (!) -- I had compatriots Rob Fesen and Christine Black on seen to watch the conditions. Forcing the commands by appending a dammit tx slit open dammit made it go! Pre-set telescope focus of 920 was essentially perfect. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2015 Oct 6 [6:06:51]
