MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2015 Oct 11 Observer(s): Alper Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Modspec/Templeton Worked for 5 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm End: Overcast, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Got the pointing issue fixed with John's help, much fruitless searching, and a recentering of the tilt sensors. I believe he just wrote an in-depth email about it to all interested parties, so I'll spare regurgitating that information here. Was able to go on-sky for maybe 2 hours or so after that before clouds rolled in. Of course. KPNO immediately closed their dome (also of course), but as Karolina took an earlier night after I explained how to observe to her, I had no feet immediately on the ground, and so opted to close to be safe. I've stuck around in case things clear, but they show no signs of letting up, so I'm calling the night a wash. At least we got a few measurements. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2015 Oct 12 [4:18:02]
