MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2016 Jun 19 Observer(s): Weil Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Andor Direct Worked for 3.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 11:00 until 2:30. Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Smoke, Winds Moderate, Only on horizon Mid: Smoke, Winds Moderate, Entire Sky Covered End: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Smoke, Winds Moderate, Only on Horizon Observing Summary: The telescope worked fine, but the conditions were highly impacted by the smoke onto the mountain. The smoke starting off only in the South but quickly spread into the Eastern sky and eventually covered almost the entire sky at about 11pm. There also appeared to be some dust in the air, so I felt it better to close the mirrors than try to fight through the clouds. Around 2:30am, the clouds seemed to break and the dust seemed to decrease. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2016 Jun 20 [4:47:41]
