MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Aug 24 Observer(s): Clarkson, Vowell, Aufdemberge Institution(s): UM-Dearborn Instrument: ANDOR Worked for 7 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: 1. Initial pointing difficulty, power cycling the unit at the base of the polar axis (at recommendation of Eric G) corrected the problem. Encoders subsequently at wrong values; Eric G fixed remotely. 2. Got onto V404 Cyg at about 8:20pm, sat on it through until 3:30am 3. Dome flats followed by darks 4. Science target inaccessible after 3:30pm; finished the night a little early to prepare for the drive down the mountain the following day.
