MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Dec 16 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Templeton + Buckeye FW Worked for 4 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Mid: Overcast, Winds Moderate End: Overcast, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Cloudy at start, but usable for several hours during first half. After that, clouded up again and humidity started to rise; the weather forecast called for a chance of showers, so I called it a night about 1:30 MST (which is 3:30 on the east coast). I made several attempts to acquire a target far down in the southeast -- into the wind -- and was met with severe nodding behavior in dec. This happens frequently enough that it doesn't merit a trouble report. Otherwise, things worked smoothly. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Dec 17 [1:31:34]
