MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Jun 24 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Andor direct + buckeye FW Worked for 4 hours (off and on through the night) Conditions were Overcast most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Overcast, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Lots of cloud tonight, with long intervals of completely opaque high cloud, interspersed with sucker holes. May have obtained some useful data through the holes, but pickin's were thin. I stopped and restarted the TCS program ('telescope stop/ telescope start') at one point, and pointing was off a bit afterward; reset on the zenith tilt meters. JSkyCalc apparently has to be restarted after doing a telescope stop/start. No actual problems, aside from weather. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Jun 25 [5:11:30]
