MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 May 24 Observer(s): Alper Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Andor Worked for 2 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Winds all night. Beg: Cirrus, Winds Moderate Mid: Clear, Winds High End: Clear, Winds High Observing Summary: The night started off cloudier than expected (given forecasts), though I couldn't totally confirm as our all-sky cam was down for the night for scheduled maintenance (and the KPNO webcams weren't at their best). Shortly into the evening KPNO closed due to high winds, which were partially matched on our weather widget (ARO was consistently yellow or red whenever I checked). Although MDM was generally in the green, if KPNO is closed and another looks iffy, I feel that stowing everything is the best call when remote observing. I'm happy to play the elements in person, but not from 2,500 miles away. Consequently, we got very little tonight. Fingers crossed that tomorrow's better. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 May 25 [4:12:54]
