MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Nov 04 Observer(s): Halpern Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: Templeton Worked for 5 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity from 20:30 until end. Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Mid: Fog/Low Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Telescope tracking stopped again, at exactly the same coords, HA = -4:48, Dec = +53, as the other night. Maybe this is an interesting clue about the nature of the problem. Closed for high humidity at 22:30. I've given up the night at 1:45 am. I filled the dewar and closed the dark hatch. Sunday night the 1.3m will be operated from Columbia by Cho and/or Collver. I disconnected from VNC on mdm24ws2 to mdm13ws1 so there should be no problem getting in to port 5900 from Columbia. But I'm not sure about the connection to the guider pc. I just closed that window to the guider pc on the second desktop on mdm24ws2. I will be leaving the observatory at about 9am. I've asked the 2.4m observers to fill the dewar and open the dark hatch in the late afternoon. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Nov 5 [2:16:02]
