MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Nov 19 Observer(s): Halpern Institution(s): Columbia Instrument: Templeton Worked for 12.5 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.9 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.6 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: At the beginning of the night the telescope's RA coordinate was off by 12 minutes of time. I'm not sure why, since there wasn't any problem like that at the end of last night. I used the tilt meters and a bright star to zero the coordinates. Otherwise there were no technical problem. Well, there was one network disconnect from the MDM side, at 4:45 am. And Owl failed to write an image at around 5:15 am. Clouds for the last 3 hours of the night got worse, covering my faint target. Main dome slit didn't want to close at the end. Had to stop and start telescope to fix it. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Nov 20 [6:17:19]
