MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2017 Oct 19 Observer(s): Thorstensen & Students Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Andor + buckeye fw Worked for 6 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from start until 4 am. Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Mid: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: A stream of fast-moving high clouds was passing over nearly all night, clearing toward dawn. Mostly it was clear enough to try to work, but I closed for several hours in the middle of the night when it was heaviest. It cleared off nicely an hour or so before the beginning of twilight. Did get some usable data, as well as other time series that were too disrupted by cloud to be useful. All in all, a good run -- the telescope behaved well. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2017 Oct 20 [6:12:24]
