MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2018 Aug 11 Observer(s): Clarkson, Fiolka, Vowell Institution(s): UM-Dearborn Instrument: Andor Worked for 1 hours (all night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 22:00 until 02:30. Beg: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.8 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Observed for one hour. Experienced problems with opening the dome; When entering command 'tx slit open', as well as 'tx dropleaf open', the TCS Session Log responded with 'ERROR slit cantopen=rain', but the weather was clear, and humidity was only about 70%. We used the deprecated commands: tx slit open dammit and tx dropleaf open dammit , which opened the dome/dropleaf. However, this issue did not occur when closing the dropleaf and dome. Network maintenance caused a VNC connection loss at roughly 22:15. At 02:22 we regained VNC connection. We opened the dome, observed for about 20 minutes, but humidity started to climb, and our target was obstructed by cloud, so we closed again. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2018 Aug 12 [4:28:26]
