MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2018 Nov 19 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Andor direct Worked for 8 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 2 AM until end. Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Night started out mostly clear after a cirrusy afternoon, and stayed good until somewhat before midnight, when some thin high clouds came through. Then around 2 AM, opaque clouds moved in covering nearly the entire sky (but with no possibility of rain). Satellite IR showed only slight hope for clearings too brief to do anything (i.e., sucker holes), so called it a night for the 1.3m around 4 AM. Closed dark hatch and manually closed the dome. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2018 Nov 20 [3:58:15]
