MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2018 Oct 30 Observer(s): Jedidah Isler Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Templeton Worked for 5.5 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: High Humidity all night. Beg: Seeing 2.5+ arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 2.5+ arcsec, Cirrus, Winds Light & Variable End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Humidity was very high tonight; hovering between 83-85%. I shutdown after Justin informed me that he had already shutdown the 2.4m due to concerns of fogging the dewar. He advised me that I wouldn't want to operate above 85% and since it's been at 84% for the last hour or so, I decided to close up too. I also note that the paddle control didn't seem to work very well from mdm13ws2. Pointing was better than usual, though, so it wasn't too big a deal, but worth noting I didn't have the same fine tune controls as I've had before. I note that as I was closing the dropleaf and slit there was an additional cantopen=rain warning, so I think it's a good idea I closed up now. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2018 Oct 30 [22:29:09]
