MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2018 Sep 28 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Templeton CCD direct Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: Very good night, no problems. Paused scientific observations to take images on either side of focus. Discussing this earlier with Eric we realized that one would have a hard time figuring out the orientation of the donuts, so Tony fabricated a plate that could be bolted to the top of the telescope and impinge on the pupil at a known quadrant (southwest in this case). I installed this before the observation and took it off afterward -- it worked nicely, since I could see it in the far out-of-focus images. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2018 Sep 29 [6:20:12]
