MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2019 Jun 27 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth College Instrument: Andor + buckeye FW Worked for 4 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 10 PM until 0:30. Beg: Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 2 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: McGraw is still dead, but I'm not using the OSU data systems so it is only used for telescope and instrument control. Rick Pogge managed to port the OSU TCS gui onto mdm13ws1; however, one also needs xmis2. He and I managed to get that to work on mdm13ws1 -- I had to become user obspkg and hand configure a few things. I expect some of the configurations are not right, since I couldn't get sensible control of the guide probe, but I was able to work around this and got several useful observations later in the night. The upshot is that it isn't absolutely critical to get the substitute McGraw functioning tomorrow, but it would be nice to have over the weekend. No new problems. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2019 Jun 28 [5:16:56]
