MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2021 Apr 07 Observer(s): Yuming Fu, Jiangtao Li Institution(s): PKU, UMich Instrument: CCDS Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 1.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm End: Seeing 1.2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: The observation went well except I spent some time testing the positioning calibration. On the previous day, the telescope was zeroed at the zenith in the end of the observation. During this night, I zeroed the telescope with J2000 coordinates of a target (along with equinox=2000) when it was in the center of the field. It turned out that the positioning after this adjustment did not work well for a few other sources, especially those with high declination. In contrast, zeroing the telescope using spectro -scopic standard stars works much better. The weather was still good. Few very thin clouds might have been in the sight lines, making the sky less clear at some point in the first half of the night. Dome closed at 05:20 am. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2021 Apr 9 [8:30:47]
