MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2021 Feb 04 Observer(s): Bhagya & Weil Institution(s): Purdue Instrument: Templeton Worked for 10 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: Overall okay night of observing, with clear skies, low wind poor seeing at the beginning of the night with improvement at the end of the night. We encountered problems with the telescope pointing and guiding during the night, we lost about 2 hours to these problems. The telescope would not slew to Dec > 74 and would not point accurately at a Dec > 70. Guider issues where encountered causes blurring of images but seemed to be resolved by changing where we pointed, indicating possible wind shake despite low wind speeds. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2021 Feb 5 [6:19:53]
