MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2021 Jul 09 Observer(s): Jules Halpern Institution(s): Columbia U. Instrument: Templeton Worked for 4 hours (first half of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Mid: Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate End: Overcast, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: I took some sky flats off thin clouds, then worked on zeroing the pointing following today's reset of the dec drive. The bright stars in JSkyCalc are very useful for this. Tried to observe my brightest target for a couple of hours, but it wasn't very useful. It clouded over very thickly around midnight. I tried to close the drop leaf about a dozen times. Not sure why, but it finally worked after I threatened to send Rob Fesen down. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2021 Jul 10 [0:53:42]
