MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2021 Mar 04 Observer(s): Aylin Garcia Soto Institution(s): Dartmouth College Instrument: MODSPEC Worked for 14.7 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 18:30 until 22:38. Beg: Patchy Clouds, Winds Calm Mid: Cirrus, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: In the beginning of the night there was a strange issue with the guide probe focus. It wouldn't focus the stars but this was fixed (somehow) later on. Another thing about the guide probe is that there are two black smudges, but it's not apparent whenever one takes an expose image in MaximDL. Aside from that, while on zoom with Prof. Thorstensen, he noticed that the subarray coordinates were changed to 1024 by 1088 instead of the usual 1024 by 334. He told me how to change the coordinates. After this is when I was able to focus the guide probe but I can't think of why that would fix the focusing. Nothing else went wrong. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2021 Mar 5 [5:40:31]
