MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2021 Mar 09 Observer(s): Aylin Garcia Soto Institution(s): Dartmouth College Instrument: MODSPEC Worked for 13 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Calm Mid: Clear, Winds Calm End: Clear, Winds Calm Observing Summary: The telescope might need adjustment in pointing. In the beginning of the observation run (Mar ~05), I only needed to move the telescope 20 to the East after slewing to get the star in the slit. However, tonight I need to move it over 150 E and 50 N to get the correct star. Aside from that I noticed that once the star was in the slit it would sometimes completely move out on each side of the slit for a few seconds and then go back to the center. I tried to adjust the position of the star with MaximDL but it kept doing it. However, I saw the spectra and it all looked fine. Other than that, while trying to download the data on Sierra (the dartmouth computer) I accidentally broke the connection/VNC so I asked Justin if he could shut the telescope down. I could see what was happening but I couldn't type or click on anything. Aside from those no real issues. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2021 Mar 10 [5:35:37]
