MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2022 Jan 14 Observer(s): Elisabeth Newton Institution(s): Dartmouth College Instrument: MODSPEC Worked for 11 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds from 17:15 until 19:45. Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Overcast, Winds Calm Mid: Seeing 3.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 3 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Began the night closed due to clouds, but once they began to clear around 7:45pm conditions got progressively better. One might have called it clear during parts of the night. Seeing took a hit around 2am. At the beginning of the night JSkyCalc was non-responsive for a few minutes and I couldn't kill the session, but then it fixed itself. I also learned you can have the camera control taking continuous images in both the expose and guide tabs at the same time, which made for non-optimal guiding for the ten minutes it took me to figure that one out. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2022 Jan 15 [7:04:00]
