MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2023 Oct 10 Observer(s): Doug Clowe/John Thorstensen Institution(s): Ohio U/Dartmouth Instrument: Templeton Direct Worked for 11 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Clear, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Clear, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: A nice clear night without issues. Doug Clowe and some of the students from his observing class took the first half, which went smoothly. When they were done, he logged off and texted me, and I logged on and confirmed I had the conn. I observed without any issues the rest of the night and saw two successive eclipses from a CV I had been following, thus finally establishing its period. The guide probe stage worked normally with the newly-replaced limit switch in place. The seeing was decent except for an interval of wretched seeing at extremely high air mass in the east. Also, during AM twilight there appeared to be some wind shake. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2023 Oct 11 [6:16:41]
