MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2026 Jan 06 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Templeton direct Worked for 5 hours (part of the night) Conditions were Non-Photometric most of the night. No equipment or software problems were encountered. Seeing and Weather: Clouds all night. Beg: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable Mid: Seeing 1+ arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Light & Variable End: Overcast, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: There was a lot of high cloud for the whole first half, but it had some decent gaps in it. I couldn't find my first target so had to (finally) reset the coordinates on the tilt meters and then with a bright star; after that, the only problem was bad weather. Around 1 AM the satellite showed no more breaks coming, and the clouds got more opaque -- it's supposed to rain tomorrow and the radars were starting to show some echoes. I closed around 1:30 AM; there's basically no chance or re-opening so I'm filing the report now. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2026 Jan 7 [2:33:19]
