MDM Observatory 1.3m Telescope Observing Report for 2024 Apr 25 Observer(s): John Thorstensen Institution(s): Dartmouth Instrument: Templeton direct Worked for 9 hours (all night) Conditions were Photometric most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the separate trouble report for details. Seeing and Weather: Beg: Seeing 2 arcsec, Clear, Winds Moderate, wind shake Mid: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable End: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Clear, Winds Light & Variable Observing Summary: A very nice clear night, with seeing that was mostly good. No equipment problems. The principal target had the dome due west - it started out near zenith - and the wind was coming straight out of the west at 15-16 mph, so there was quite a bit of wind shake early on. The winds died down later, and I had no issues after that except occasional soft seeing. After I drafted this, but before I submitted it, I couldn't get the dome to close!! See trouble report. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2024 Apr 26 [5:33:40]
