MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2001 Apr 14

Worked for 10 hours (all night)
Conditions were Photometric most of the night.
Problems were encountered, see the summary for details.

Seeing and Weather:
   Beg: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm
   Mid: Seeing 0.7 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm
   End: Seeing 0.9 arcsec, Clear, Winds Calm

Observing Summary:

Significant haze on western horizon at beginning of night, but 
no clouds in sight.  Conditions almost photometric throughout
the night.  The guider pc crashed (or  froze ) twice.  We 
noticed that the power cables were not fully pushed in.  After
pushing them in, the crashing stopped.  Perhaps a piece of tape
or a repositioning of the outlet strip (on the table in the 
corner behind the guider pc) is necessary to avoid future 
problems.
Minor problems with the 8K software: a couple of times it seemed to refuse
to recognize the fileno command and would start renumbering from
1. Does the ORDER of filename, filenumber matter??
A really minor problem (but one in place for at least 9 months:
the light in the entrance to the south room sleeping
quarters is out and needs replacing (where's the ladder??)
