MDM Observatory 2.4m Telescope Observer's Report for 2001 Jan 02 Observer(s): C. Gerardy & E. C. Sung Institution(s): Dartmouth & KAO Instrument: TIFKAM Worked for 11 hours (most of the night) Conditions were Mixed most of the night. Problems were encountered, see the summary for details. Seeing and Weather: High Winds all night. Beg: Seeing 1.5 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Mid: Seeing 2.0 arcsec, Clear, Winds High End: Seeing 2.0 arcsec, Patchy Clouds, Winds Moderate Observing Summary: Had troubly re-booting TIFKAM computers this afternoon after they were moved to UPS power. Finally fixed by power-cycling the electronics boxes on the instrument. (See trouble report for further details) Dome wouldn't open at the begining of the night (the relay was clicking, but the dome didn't want to open) so we used the emergency extension cord to open the dome. Poor seeing all night, and sometimes clouds as well. Obs: JHK imaging of BCD's & nearby spiral galaxies... Ks Imaging of Cas A SNR H2 & 2.09 micron NB imaging of Crab Nebula. New NB filters seem to work well. ------------------------------ Submitted on 2001 Jan 3 [6:29:19]
